Invitation to Field Course in Laos 4-27 September 2009

UPDATE! SELECTED PARTICIPANTS

A course "Forest Landscape Restoration in the Mekong River Basin" will  be organised by the National University of Laos (NUOL), in Vientiane,  Laos, from 4-27 September 2009, in cooperation with VITRI and  Kasetsart University in Bangkok, Thailand. This activity will take  place under the framework of the FORMEB project coordinated by VITRI  as part of the Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs HEI-ICI  Institutional Support Programme.

For this course, a maximum of 15 course participants are invited from  the University of Helsinki, so as to enhance the educational  interaction with trainees in Laos and to contribute to institutional  strengthening and capacity building at  NUOL. In addition, a  possibility for M.Sc. thesis field work in Laos is offered to two of  these participants from Finland. The course corresponds to a total of  6 ECTS credits which can also be awarded as fulfilment of the ME451  field course. All costs for participants from the University of  Helsinki,including international travel,are covered by the FORMEB  project.
